Zayn retains but Breakker arrives at Money in the Bank

Bron Breakker was called up to the main roster and quickly established as an unhinged lunatic absolutely running through everyone, in part because he wasn’t included in the King of the Ring tournament field. That path of destruction quickly led him to Sami Zayn and a shot at his Intercontinental championship at tonight’s (Sat., July 6, 2024) Money in the Bank premium live event at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canda.

This also meant we weren’t going to get a glorified squash match, which is about all we’ve been exposed to from Bron on the main roster. Naturally, Sami went ahead and gave him a damn good match.

It should also be said, then, that Breakker performed well in what could be argued was the biggest match of his young career so far. For instance, he saved Sami from what could have been a real bad drop:

Breakker bumped like a madman, and sold like hell for everything, including the finish, when he took a huge kick going in for a spear and then completely fell out after the Helluva Kick. He couldn’t answer the three count.

Sami Zayn is still your Intercontinental champion.

But Bron Breakker has truly arrived.
