Yankees decide on Gerrit Cole’s season debut

Gerrit Cole’s much-anticipated return to the Yankees’ MLB roster is set.

Cole will start on Wednesday night as the Yankees face the Orioles at Yankee Stadium, manager Aaron Boone said on his Jomboy Media podcast appearance on Monday.

The Yankees’ ace said over the weekend that his return was coming together after he had 10 strikeouts in 4 ⅓ innings in a rehab start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Cole, who won last year’s AL Cy Young award, has been out all season after he suffered elbow inflammation in mid-March.
