Woman found dead inside python’s belly, swallowed whole, reports say

INDONESIA (Gray News) – A woman was found dead inside the belly of a snake after it swallowed her whole in Indonesia, according to multiple reports.

The 45-year-old woman hadn’t come home after going for a walk Thursday night, prompting a search.

According to CBS News, her husband and other community members found her Friday inside a 16-foot-long reticulated python.

Officials told AFP that her husband found her belongings which “made him suspicious” and then came across the giant snake with a large belly.

The group cut open the snake’s stomach and found the woman inside, fully clothed.

She was a mother of four.

Officials said this is the fifth time a person was eaten by a python in Indonesia since 2017.

The reticulated python is the longest snake in the world, according to London’s Natural History Museum. They are native to Southern Asia and can be more than 20 feet long.
