Wild Pre-Prime Day Bargains Have Appeared, Free Shredder’s Revenge, Alex Kidd, KOTOR, and More! – IGN
Thank your own personal deity—possibly Radahn—it’s Friday! If you somehow didn’t know, Amazon Prime Day is kicking off early next week, but the deals are leaking out early (as they almost always do). I’m also seeing Ubisoft kick off a Summer Sale that has a few 90% off bargains, too. Until the next week of great savings, do stay safe, save often, and see you then.
In retro news, I’m celebrating the 11th birthday of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, a 3DS purchase I’m glad I didn’t sleep on. Released in The Year of Luigi (a 30th anniversary celebration), this sequel to 2009’s Bowser’s Inside Story had a higher focus on the lanky L capped one. Beyond the always addictive level and gear grinding, I remember digging Luiginary Attacks, Luiginoids, and Giant Luigi boss fights, plus a bold new artstyle that became the template for all future entries, like the forthcoming Mario & Luigi: Brothership which I’ll probably play the crotch out of, too.

The first Mario & Luigi role-playing game in nearly a decade, it finds the bros exploring islands on a vessel that’s part ship and part island itself. It sports an all-new cel-shaded art style and is available for preorder now.

Are you at a loose end after clocking Shadow of the Erdtree? May I suggest you shift gears slightly to the next groin-kick of an ARPG that will delight and destroy you in equal measure with its unique open-world ways. 8/10, great.

Just a beautifully realised world with a story that isn’t afraid to tackle heavy subjects and knows when to take its foot off the pedal for a bit. Tales’ characters feel real and relatable, plus there’s a fresh and fun combat system. 9/10, amazing.
