Why Taylor Swift Isn’t Throwing Her Fourth of July Party This Year
No one loves celebrating America’s birthday more than Miss Americana herself. But sadly, Taylor Swift and her famous girl squad won’t be gathering at her Rhode Island mansion this year to drink wine and pose together in red, white, and blue bikinis on the front lawn.
Why, you may ask? Well, Swift is still overseas for the European leg of her sold-out international Eras Tour, which has concerts scheduled in Amsterdam on July 4, 5, and 6. But perhaps she will still celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with a bomb pop and hot dog after the show, especially if her boyfriend Travis Kelce is in town.
Last year, the pop star revived her iconic Independence Day bash for the first time since 2016, inviting all three Haim sisters and Selena Gomez to her Watch Hill home. “Happy belated Independence Day,” Taylor wrote alongside a slideshow of photos from the party on Instagram at the time, “from your local neighborhood independent girlies.” She then teased her next tour stop, adding: “See you tonight Kansas Cityyy.”
Of course, after that she went on to perform at Arrowhead Stadium, where Kelce was in the audience with a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. He didn’t get to meet Swift then, but they eventually got in touch after the NFL player put Swift “on blast” during his New Heights podcast.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift shared during her Time Person of the Year interview in December 2023. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.
