Why fitness influencers are all flocking to the Gold Coast
An athlete-turned-Instagram star has revealed why the Gold Coast is home to Australia’s hottest fitness influencers.
Olivia May, a professional sprinter, recently documented her move from Melbourne to the Gold Coast after her influencing career took off during Covid lockdowns.
Speaking to The Courier Mail on Tuesday, the blonde said she was ‘drawn’ to the coastal city after finding online fame, adding: ‘The active lifestyle on the Gold Coast really draws influencers.’
‘There are so many opportunities and so many of the big brands that people would partner with are based [here].’
Indeed, Australia’s most influential and successful fitness gurus are based on Brisbane‘s golden shores, including multi-millionaire influencers Tammy Hembrow and Kayla Itsines.
While Tammy grew up in the Sunshine State, Kayla only recently made the move up from Adelaide with her new husband Jae Woodroffe, their newborn son Jax and four-year-old daughter Arna, who she shares with ex Tobi Pearce.
Confirming the big news in January, Kayla took to Instagram with a post that read: ‘We’ve officially MOVED TO QUEENSLAND!!!’
Kayla was thrilled to reveal that she was joined by her family as they settled in, and that she’d be flying back to her hometown for regular visits.
Fitness influencer and exercise clothing brand owner Rachel Dillon, who recently married Kayla’s ex Tobi, is also based on the Gold Coast.
Her sister Emma, also an online gym guru, is also based on the Gold Coast.
Other fitness influencers located on the Gold Coast include Ashy Bines, Brendon Wharton, Annabelle Ronnfeldt and Skye Sutton.
Controversial bodybuilder and influencer Sophie Guidolin is also spending plenty of time on the Gold Coast thanks to her new romance with local personal trainer Nicholas White.
