Last week, Meta updated WhatsApp with a shortcut to reply to a video note using a video note. Now, the company is working on making the video note feature even better by giving you a new way to record a video note.
In the current stable version of WhatsApp for Android, you can record and send a video note by long pressing the camera button at the bottom-right corner of the screen, and that’s the only way you can record a video note.
WhatsApp now gives you a second way to record video notes
According to a new report from WABetaInfo, in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.24.14.14), when you click on the camera button in a chat, you will see a new mode beside Photo and Video modes called ‘Video note.’
As the name suggests, this mode allows you to record video notes to send in a chat, making it the second way to do so. The new feature will make the video note feature discoverable to more people, which could increase its usability.
The story continues after the video…
Currently, there’s no information on when Meta will roll out the camera’s video note mode to the stable version of the app. Going by WhatsApp’s feature rollout history, it should become available to the public in the next few months.
