May 24, 2024 10:00 a.m.

7 Feathers Truck & Travel Center in Canyonville will celebrate the grand opening of the newest rapid, reliable, and universal electric vehicle charging stations on Interstate 5 in southern Oregon on Tuesday.

A release from the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians said the event will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will include a cultural blessing in the Cow Creek traditional language of Takelma and other cultural ceremonies. Speakers will include Tribal Chairman Carla Keene and other tribal officials along with Electric Era CEO Quincy Lee.

Built with technology developed by Electric Era, the release said these electric vehicle charging stations are representative of the Tribe’s commitment to explore clean energy and work toward becoming energy independent.

7 Feathers Truck & Travel is at exit 99 along the freeway in Canyonville.
