Travis Scott had a simple three-letter response to his recent arrest: “lol.”
The “Goosebumps” rapper, 33, was arrested in Miami on during the early morning hours of Thursday, June 20, on disorderly intoxication and trespassing charges.
Scott (real name: Jacques Webster) reacted to the arrest via X, formerly known as Twitter, several hours later, writing “lol.” He followed up the tweet with a message to fans that he still plans on going hard on tour.
“6 days to circus Maximus tour,” Scott wrote. “For the record I’m going. Ham.”
The “ASTROWORLD” artist — who shares two young children with ex Kylie Jenner — was allegedly partying on a yacht early Tuesday morning when trouble broke out.
“Mr. Webster was taken into custody following an incident at the Miami Beach Marina located at 300 Alton Road,” the Miami Beach Police Department told Newsweek in a statement on Thursday. The arrest affidavit, as seen by Newsweek, also stated: “Officers on the scene could ‘sense a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant’s breath.’ Scott admitted to police that he had been drinking alcohol, stating: ‘It’s Miami.'”
A Fox News reporter further tweeted: “@MiamiBeachPD say he was on a charter boat at the Miami Beach Marina. ‘He was drunk, causing a disturbance and asked to leave multiple times.’ Officers say when he refused to leave, he was arrested and taken to Miami-Dade Jail.”
A Newsweek source denied that any “physical altercation” took place, calling the party “rowdy.”
Following Scott’s arrest, the source said, “Travis was already bailed out for a few hundred dollars. He is already home. There will be no further action to be taken as it was a minor incident akin to receiving a ticket with no injuries.”
