Traveling Memorial Day weekend? RTC encourages commuters plan for heavy traffic
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Are you planning to travel for Memorial Day weekend? Well, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is offering commuters a few tips to help avoid heavy traffic and delays.
RTC is advising travelers to avoid I-15 southbound at the California-Nevada state line between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, May 27, as heavy traffic is expected during this period.
Drivers can visit SeeingOrangenv.com for details on current roadway construction projects and the most up-to-date traffic information.
Additionally, transit riders should note that RTC buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.
RTC’s transit service includes the Deuce on the Strip, which runs every 10-15 minutes, 24 hours a day, offering convenience and flexibility for visitors and residents to the Las Vegas Resort Corridor.
For those flying this holiday weekend, the RTC offers free parking at the Centennial Hills Transit Center or the South Strip Transit Terminal with direct transit service to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of Harry Reid International Airport via the Centennial Express or Route 109 Maryland Parkway.
