Tony Khan announces a 14th match at Forbidden Door

Were you one of the many AEW, NJPW, or CMLL fans looking at Sunday night’s (June 30) Forbidden Door pay-per-view card and wondering why it had a relatively light load of only 13 matches? Well, AEW President Tony Khan has got you covered. He announced a 14th match for the lineup, with this new 4-way tag team match taking place on the Zero Hour pre-show.

It will be House of Black (Malakai Black & Brody King) vs. Private Party vs. Gabe Kidd & Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O’Reilly & Tomohiro Ishii. This at least answers the question of why NJPW stars Kidd and Ishii suddenly appeared on AEW television this week.

That gives us the following 14 match card for Forbidden Door:

• Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Will Ospreay for the AEW World championship

• Jon Moxley (c) vs. Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight title

• Konosuke Takeshita vs. Mark Briscoe vs. Jack Perry vs. Dante Martin vs. Lio Rush vs. El Phantasmo in a Ladder Match for the vacant TNT title

• TBS champ Mercedes Moné vs. NJPW Strong Women’s champ Stephanie Vaquer in a Title for Title match

• Timeless Toni Storm (c) vs. Mina Shirakawa for the AEW Women’s World championship

• Orange Cassidy vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

• MJF vs. Hechicero

• Bryan Danielson vs. Shingo Takagi in a Men’s Owen Hart Tournament first round match

• The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho & Big Bill) and Jeff Cobb vs. Samoa Joe, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata

• The Elite (The Young Bucks & Kazuchika Okada) vs. The Acclaimed & Hiroshi Tanahashi

• Kris Statlander & Momo Watanabe vs. Willow Nightingale & Tam Nakano (pre-show)

• Mistico, Rey Fenix, & Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Titan, Yota Tsuji & Hiromu Takahashi (pre-show)

• Mariah May vs. Saraya in a Women’s Owen Hart Tournament first round match (pre-show)

• House of Black vs. Private Party vs. Kyle O’Reilly & Tomohiro Ishii vs. Gabe Kidd & Roderick Strong (pre-show)

This is probably the final card, but there is still technically time left on the clock to add a 15th match at some point on Sunday.

Do you plan to watch all 14 matches on Sunday night, Cagesiders?
