Tips for Busy Fourth of July Travel
DALLAS (KDAF) — If you’re hitting the road to travel for the Fourth of July, you won’t be alone — nearly 71 million people are expected to travel next week, according to AAA, making it the busiest Independence travel week ever.
Adrienne Ingoldt, chief marketing officer of Pilot, has shared some tips to ensure travelers have a smooth experience:
- Pre-plan your stops: Use maps or apps to plot out rest stops, travel centers, attractions, and dining options along your route to break up the journey.
- Maximize your stops: Take advantage of the breaks to refresh and refuel. Don’t just stop for gas, stretch your legs, grab a snack and coffee, or explore nearby landmarks.
- Save along the way: Utilize rewards and loyalty programs for discounts on gas and meals along your route, also pack snacks and drinks for longer stretches on the road.
- Find joy on the road: Listen to music or podcasts, play road trip games, and take detours to explore unexpected sights. Remember the road trip is part of the adventure.
