A major pizza chain restaurant with more than 550 locations across the U.S. is considering filing for bankruptcy, according to several media reports.
Mod Pizza, the restaurant known for its custom pizzas and salads, may enter court protection by next week, according to Bloomberg News. However, the discussions aren’t final and plans could change, the article says.
“We’re working diligently to improve our capital structure and are exploring all options to do so,” a Mod Pizza spokesperson said in an emailed statement to Bloomberg News.
Mod Pizza started in Seattle in 2008, and since then it has had locations in 28 states, none of which are in Massachusetts or New England.
