There might actually be a Money in the Bank cash-in tonight

It’s one thing to predict the winners and losers at Money in the Bank 2024, but how about taking a guess at the match order for the event?

Money in the Bank takes place tonight (Sat., July 6) from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event begins at 5 pm ET with the free Countdown show, which runs for two hours on YouTube, WWE.com, and various other social media outlets. That leads right on into the main card at 7 pm ET, which you can stream from a number of devices if you have a subscription to Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.

WWE has announced five different segments for the main card of this event. Here is my subjective view of how important each of these five segments rank, ordered from most important to least important.

  1. Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins
  2. Men’s ladder match
  3. Women’s ladder match
  4. Rhodes, Orton & Owens vs. The Bloodline
  5. Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker

Main event

The men’s Money in the Bank ladder match isn’t filled out with a bunch of top stars and former world champions, so it isn’t a good fit for the main event segment. That’s okay, because a title change is definitely on the table when Damian Priest defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins, with the added stakes that Priest must leave The Judgment Day if he loses. This title match is pretty clearly the main event of tonight’s card.

Everything else

There are two Money in the Bank ladder matches to place among the first four segments, so it makes sense to put one in Segment 1 and the other in Segment 4, to create maximum distance between them. I’ll go with the men in the opening match, partially because Jey Uso’s entrance is super over and that might be a great way to start the show.

Another reason is that Drew McIntyre has already said he will close out tonight’s show by cashing in the Money in the Bank contract. If McIntyre delivers on his word by winning the ladder match, he should do that at the beginning of the show so there is plenty of time throughout the show to build anticipation for his guaranteed cash-in attempt (and potential screwjob by CM Punk).

With the men’s ladder match opening the show, that means the women’s match goes in Segment 4.

After that I’ll get the least important match out of the way as early as I can, which puts Zayn in Segment 2 and The Bloodline in Segment 3.

Finalized card

So here is my final prediction for the match order at Money in the Bank 2024, along with guesses on the bell-to-bell match times:

Segment 1: Men’s ladder match (22 minutes)
Segment 2: Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker (12)
Segment 3: Rhodes, Orton & Owens vs. The Bloodline (20)
Segment 4: Women’s ladder match (18)
Segment 5: Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins (19)

That’s my prediction for the match order at Money in the Bank. What’s yours?
