The Bloodline pin WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the main event of Money in the Bank
Solo Sikoa declared himself the new Tribal Chief before outright calling out Roman Reigns during this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Less than 24 hours later, he took his new Bloodline crew into a six-man tag team match against Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who he has vowed to dethrone, in the main event of tonight’s (Sat., July 6, 2024) Money in the Bank premium live event at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
That it was the main event, considering everything else on the card, made you think there may be something major planned for it.
Nope!
It was a Bloodline match, so naturally there was a referee bump late. The babyface team used that to trade off attacking Sikoa, then went about trying to triple powerbomb him before Jacob Fatu made the save. He ended up getting put through the announcer’s table shortly after for his trouble. But the ref took another bump, giving us even more time for lawlessness. Finishers were spammed, everyone was taken out, it was a mad dash to the finish.
Said finish was Fatu and Sikoa teaming up on Rhodes, setting him up for the Spike and putting him away with it before getting the ref to come to and count the pin.
The WWE champion took the pinfall defeat.
It indeed looks like Rhodes vs. Sikoa could be headlining SummerSlam.
