The new Alienware m16 R2 gaming laptop, which was first announced during CES 2024, has dropped down to the lowest price ever. You can pick up an RTX 4060 config for $1199.99 or better yet, upgrade to an RTX 4070 GPU for only $1399.99. The Alienware m16 R2 is lighter and slimmer than the previous generation m16 R1. The hump behind the display is no longer there, resulting in a 14% reduction in both dimensions and weight. Additionally, the m16 R2 is now equipped with a low voltage Intel Meteor Lake CPUs for less power draw and thus less heat and longer battery life. Fortunately, the GPUs have the same TGP rating as the m16 R1. The RTX 4060 is rated at 135W and the RTX 4070 at 140W so they’ll perform at the top of the heap compared to other similarly equipped gaming laptops.

Dell has dropped the price of this Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4080 SUPER gaming PC to $2199.99 after a $600 instant discount. The recently released GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER is the second fastest NVIDIA GPU on the market, second only to the RTX 4090. It’s about 5%-10% faster in performance than the RTX 4080 thanks to its higher base clock speed, higher CUDA core count, and higher memory bandwidth. This rig will chew through any game, even at 4K resolution and ray tracing enabled.

The R16 is the newest Alienware Aurora gaming desktop for 2023. The R16 chassis is 40% smaller in volume compared to previous iterations. It features a simple yet proven airflow design; air is drawn in through the side intake vents over the GPU area as well as a 120mm rear fan drawing air in and a generously sized 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler exhausts air out through the top. A side benefit is that the GPU is supplied with fresh air from the outside instead of recirculating hot internal air.

The RTX 4060 Ti 8GB video card is an excellent GPU for 1080p gaming. At that resolution, it’s up to 20%-25% more powerful than the RTX 4060.
