The Best Of Milan Men’s Fashion Week SS25 – Augustman Malaysia

Milan Men’s Fashion Week SS25 was an eventful season, marked by unexpected moments, fresh collections, and emerging summer trends. Spanning 14-18 June 2024, this fashion week attracted the likes of renowned fashion houses such as Gucci, Prada, Moschino, Fendi and Zegna.

However, the most remarkable surprise came from Valentino’s newly appointed creative director, Alessandro Michele, who is popular for his successful stint at Gucci. On the same day as Sabato de Sarno was about to present Gucci’s SS25, Michele unveiled an astonishing resort collection of 171 ensembles at Valentino. This unexpected move certainly caught everyone’s attention.

Amid it all, JW Anderson chose the Italian city to present his Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled Real Sleep, whereas, MSGM celebrated its 15th anniversary. Meanwhile, Moschino’s new creative director, Adrian Appiolaza, debuted with an impressive inaugural collection for the brand.

Highlights from Milan Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2025

Gucci

Gucci’s creative director Sabato de Sarno showcased the menswear iteration of Spring/Summer 2025 at Milan. This collection emphasised transitional clothing that can be worn from the city to the beach, with a prominent use of muted green. Among the notable pieces were net polos, knits, cropped blazers, oversized workwear, co-ord sets, metallic fringe shirts, leather tops, sequin shorts and sheer shirts.

Valentino

Alessandro Michele unveiled his debut collection for Valentino following his appointment as the creative director of the renowned Italian fashion house in March. Demonstrating his signature maximalist style, the designer infused the collection with his aesthetic, reminiscent of his successful tenure at Gucci.

The 171-look range remained faithful to Michele’s vision of eccentric elegance, effectively shaping the future direction of Valentino’s designs. Drawing inspiration from the 1960s and 1970s, the collection exudes vintage charm through opulent embellishments, frilly details, luxurious fur-trimmed coats, patterned suits and sophisticated ensembles.

Zegna

Zegna’s Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection was based on keeping linen as the central fabric. Alessandro Sartori, the creative director, honoured this fine material by dubbing the collection L’Oasi di Lino — a sanctuary dedicated to linen — celebrating the wonders of nature.

The lineup features airy linen suits, overcoats, sleeveless coats, knitwear, blazers and coordinated sets in a palette of refreshing and natural hues such as slate, blue, mint, white, rust, black, mustard yellow and maroon.

Dhruv Kapoor

Dhruv Kapoor showcased his most recent Spring/Summer 2025 line at the Milan Men’s Fashion Week. The collection was inspired by nostalgic memories from childhood, exuding an aura of purity and innocence through its details. Additionally, it paid homage to his Indian roots.

Noteworthy ensembles from the collection encompassed two-piece layered outfits, adorned and fringed coats, coordinated denim sets and leather and linen vests. The lineup also featured neon-hued bowling and oversized shirts with striking graphic prints.

Fendi

Fendi’s latest Spring/Summer 2025 line epitomises modern menswear. Creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi honoured the brand’s evolving house codes for the upcoming season by reimagining her initial menswear collection from 1990 to elevate Fendi’s menswear for contemporary times. The collection showcases a futuristic flair in garments including trench coats, checkered trousers, bomber jackets, sheer shirts and knitted sweaters. Complementing accessories like sleek ties, tote bags, crossbody bags and ballerina-style footwear predicted the emerging micro-fashion trends.

JW Anderson

JW Anderson drew inspiration from bedtime for the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, showcasing cosy padded silhouettes perfect for a restful slumber. The runway featured models in quilted duvet coats in soft pink, lavender, and cream tones, as well as loose denim dresses, bomber jackets, structured leather outerwear, glossy-coated puffed hoodies, printed knitwear and utilitarian pieces.

Emporio Armani

Emporio Armani paid a graceful tribute to the equestrian way of life with its Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Featuring a range of 80 looks, the models confidently strode the runway adorned in airy knitwear, pinstriped jumpsuits, sleek collarless military jackets, relaxed co-ords, sophisticated shirtless suits, stylish leather blazers,  printed tunics and shorts.

Complementing these stunning outfits were diverse accessories including suede bags, leather clutches, woven handbags and duffle bags.

Moschino

Moschino is recognised for its eccentric style, and the brand’s new creative director, Adrian Appiolaza, highlighted this element in the debut collection. Titled Lost and Found, the collection portrayed a whimsical representation of ordinary individuals transitioning from urban settings to workplaces. Menswear garments, like suits, were adorned with keys, cards, pens, phones and credit cards. The rest of the regular clothing included casual graphic shirts, oversized suits with fringes, graphic tees and more.

Prada

At the SS25 show by Prada, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons explored classic menswear styles with a modern twist. Titled Closer, the collection combined reality and fantasy, prompting viewers to reconsider their understanding of time and the items that shape our routines.

The menswear ensembles prominently featured knitwear matched with shirts, cardigans, long straight coats, tailored polo shirts in vibrant hues, leather and wool trench coats, multi-pocketed utilitarian pieces in bold colours and a variety of accessories such as mini bags, shoulder bags, backpacks and duffle bags.

MSGM

MSGM celebrated the label’s 15th anniversary with a fresh SS25 line featuring a vibrant colour scheme including shades of blue, yellow, red, black, yellow and navy. The male models were seen sporting bomber jackets, shorts, polo shirts, trousers, graphic co-ord sets, denim-on-denim ensembles, relaxed tailored suits and leather shorts, all ideal for sunny beach days.
