Tems Premieres New Songs “Unfortunate” and “Forever” During NPR ‘Tiny Desk’
Tems recently performed her own NPR Tiny Desk concert as part of an ongoing series celebrating Black Music Month. Throughout June, the show will be releasing concerts from nine Black women artists, ranging from newcomers on the scene to industry veterans.
The Nigerian singer’s set wasn’t entirely filled with familiar favorites as some may expect. Save for her hit tracks “Me & U” and “Ice T,” Tems used the concert to perform a series of songs from her upcoming debut album, Born In The Wild.
Along with the previously released “Love Me JeJe,” Tems unveiled two new singles, “Unfortunate” and “Forever.”
“Unfortunate” sees the singer lean more into R&B rather than her go-to Afrobeats sound, while “Forever” exemplifies her capability to deliver soaring and raw vocals.
