The world of Shadowheart cosplay is a wide one, and new creations keep coming along that bring memorable aspects of Baldur’s Gate 3 to life in new ways. Shadowheart has been a fan-favorite companion since Baldur’s Gate 3‘s early access period, with a personality that has earned her the affectionate description of “God’s favorite princess and the most interesting girl in the world.” She might be a cleric of the Lady of Loss Shar, but nobody’s perfect, and that dark edge might just be an extra part of the appeal.

One cool new take on Shadowheart comes courtesy of cosplayer Zureeal, who posted a clip wearing the Wavemother’s Robe from Baldur’s Gate 3 on Reddit. This intricate blue ensemble is bedecked in finery and complete with the Spear of Night that Shadowheart can acquire in Act 2 of the game, making for an unmistakable cosplay for those familiar with Baldur’s Gate 3.

Zureeal’s Shadowheart cosplay also opts for the platinum hair color that Shadowheart can switch to in the latter stretches of the game, which pairs nicely with the softer colors of the Wavemother’s Robe.

The Wavemother’s Robe Is A Unique Shadowheart Look

An Optional Costume Has Utility & Style

Female character wearing the Weavemother's Robe Baldur's Gate 3

It’s possible to go through the entirety of Baldur’s Gate 3 without actually coming across this particular costume, as the Wavemother’s Robe isn’t connected to any major story content for Shadowheart. Instead, it’s a reward for completing the Avenge the Drowned” quest found in Act 3, which can be started at the Water Queen’s House after entering the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate. The Very Rare article of clothing offers resistance to Fire and Cold damage, healing when standing in water, access to the create or destroy water spell, and a +1 boost to Armor Class.

Any party member can don these robes, but it’s hard to argue that Shadowheart doesn’t particularly sell the look, especially when it comes to Zureeal’s cosplay. The Wavemother’s Robe makes for a bold shift from her typical armored ensemble, and it’s gotten a lot of attention from fans thanks to its status as especially striking Baldur’s Gate 3 armor. It’s also nice to have some extra resistances and healing options for the designated cleric, who generally needs to stay standing if the rest of the party wants to avoid a lot of extra risk.

To build Shadowheart as a powerful Dark Justiciar, optimize her character abilities with the best multiclass, and locate effective weaponry and armor.

Shadowheart isn’t the first impressive Baldur’s Gate 3 cosplay from Zureeal, with some earlier posts showcasing the extensive makeup work necessary for Karlach and Lae’zel. They’re all great examples of how much of an extra life Baldur’s Gate 3 has taken on outside the game itself, and seeing the creativity and talent that fans put into cosplay projects makes it easy to be excited about how it will continue to live on. Although there isn’t likely to be any DLC or a sequel in the near future for Baldur’s Gate 3, the game definitely isn’t going away anytime soon.
