Spain offer fresh injury update on Barcelona midfielder Pedri
Spain have offered a fresh injury update on Pedri after the Barcelona midfielder was forced off injured against Germany.
Pedri was initially diganosed with a left knee sprain, and the national team have now provided a little more detail after further tests.
“Following tests carried out on international player Pedri González, the Canarian player has a grade 2 internal lateral sprain in his left knee,” read a statement.
“The footballer will remain with his teammates until the end of the current training camp, which is focused on the Euro 2024 tournament.”
There’s no detail yet on how much time Pedri will miss. Early estimates suggest he will be out for around 4-6 weeks which means he’s likely to miss the start of Barcelona’s season as well.
Barcelona kick off their new La Liga campaign on August 17 with a trip to Mestalla to take on Valencia.
