Amazon just announced that Prime Day will happen on July 16 and 17, 2024. The 48-hour sale is the brand’s limited-time savings event that drops some of the best deals of the year smack dab in the middle of summer.
Do I need to be a Prime member to shop Prime Day?

Tips for Shopping Prime Day
Whether it’s your first Prime Day or you’re a seasoned pro, Amazon has a tendency to switch things up with each big sale. Here are our top tips for shopping the savings extravaganza:
- Load up your cart early: If you have items you commonly buy on Amazon (think: paper towels, teeth whitening strips, protein bars, etc.), put those products in your cart before the sale starts. That way, when the deals drop, you can give your purchases a once-over to check deals, and then check out quickly. If you’re shopping for something specific, like AirPods, adding them to your cart gives you a leg up on snagging them before they sell out.
- Put your Alexa to work: You can ask Alexa to remind you when deals on items go live, or you can set push notifications on the Amazon app. Load up your wish list on Amazon and get notified when prices drop on items you’ve been eyeing.
- Take off your Amazon goggles: Hear us out. While we’re big Amazon fans, sometimes there are better deals from other retailers. It’s worth price matching if you’re making a larger purchase to ensure you’re getting the lowest price.
