This particular Lowcountry region has several farmers markets that help residents and visitors alike shop local, find fresh produce, support local businesses and explore what the surrounding companies have to offer.
Here are six local farmers markets that cater to anything you may be looking for in Beaufort County.
Farmers Market at Coastal Discovery Museum
Visit the Farmers Market at Coastal Discovery Museum every Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the museum’s Honey Horn Campus, which can be found at 70 Honey Horn Drive on Hilton Head Island. Free parking is available. The market includes an expanding list of regular vendors as well as a rotating schedule of food trucks at the venue. This Hilton Head Island farmers market helps display fresh local produce, eggs, a large variety of meats, fresh baked goods and seafood.
Hilton Head Community Market
The Hilton Head Community Market is on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Shelter Cove Community Park, which is located mid-island at 39 Shelter Cove Lane. This market includes local foods and goods from surrounding businesses that provide items such as fruits and vegetables, baked goods, various meats and other nonfood-related items.
Farmers & Makers Market at The Shops at Sea Pines Center
The Farmers & Makers Market at The Shops at Sea Pines Center can be found on the south end of Hilton Head Island on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 71 Lighthouse Road in Sea Pines. Local vendors will be in attendance and offer visitors their fresh local produce, seafood, barbecue, baked goods, various arts and goods.
Root and Bloom Market
The Root and Bloom Market can be found every Wednesday from 3-6 p.m. at the Martin Family Park, which is located at 68 Boundary Street in Bluffton. This natural living and vintage market focuses on non-toxic living as well as sustainability and hand-made art. Visitors might also come across some vintage finds. At the market, attendees can find organic produce, fresh eggs, pasture-raised meats, wellness products, and natural skincare among other goods.
Farmers Market of Bluffton
The Farmers Market of Bluffton can be found at 68 Boundary Street in Bluffton at Martin Family Park on Thursdays from noon until 5 p.m. This open air community farmers market offers live music, chef demonstrations and kids activities, while providing guests with the opportunity to find fresh local produce, plants and flowers, prepared foods and baked goods as well as educational opportunities.
Port Royal Farmers Market
The Port Royal Farmers Market occurs year round on Saturdays, regardless of the weather, from 9 a.m. until noon at Naval Heritage Park, which can be found at 1615 Ribaut Road in Port Royal. At this market, you will find a variety of goods such as fresh, local produce, seafood, meats, dairy items and baked goods. You may also find several varieties of plants, flowers, citrus trees and fresh cut flower bouquets. This market also has ample options for prepared food of all kinds including barbecue, seafood, soups, baked goods, dumplings, coffees and more.
