Sen. Ossoff Introduces Legislation to Upgrade Fort Eisenhower Infrastructure – U.S. Senator for Georgia Jon Ossoff
Fort Eisenhower, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is introducing legislation to strengthen U.S. national security by constructing new facilities at Fort Eisenhower.
This week, Sen. Ossoff introduced legislation to authorize construction of a National Guard and Reserve Center on Fort Eisenhower, a key first step for the project.
The Fort Eisenhower National Guard Support Act would strengthen national security by authorizing construction of a new National Guard and Reserve Readiness Center, enabling the Georgia Army National Guard to consolidate units in the region and enhance the Guard’s readiness and capabilities. The current facility does not have adequate space for the assigned units and their equipment.
“Fort Eisenhower is critical to U.S. national security, and Georgia’s servicemembers and reservists are always on my mind,” Sen. Ossoff said. “This is why I have introduced the Fort Eisenhower National Guard Support Act to ensure they have state-of-the-art facilities to carry out important missions and training.”
Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen national security and improve conditions and facilities for Georgia’s servicemembers.
In January, Sens. Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock passed into law their Fort Eisenhower Child Development Center Expansion Act to extend the authorization needed to ensure completion of a new child development center on Fort Eisenhower, offering more space and modernizing classrooms to ensure high-quality early childhood education for Augusta’s military families.
Also in January, Sen. Ossoff passed into law his Ft. Eisenhower Cyber Center Enhancement Act through the FY24 National Defense Authorization Act, which authorized construction of new classrooms at the Cyber Center of Excellence.
