Rite Aid to close 12 Michigan locations: Here’s where
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As it works through bankruptcy proceedings, Rite Aid is planning on closing a dozen more locations in Michigan.
The pharmacy chain has closed around 200 locations since it filed for bankruptcy last year, including a couple in Michigan. On Monday, it filed plans to close 27 more locations — 12 in Michigan and 15 in Ohio.
In West Michigan, the Rite Aid at 603 E. Savidge St. in Spring Lake is set to close, as is the one at 936 E. Ludington Ave. in Ludington.
Other Michigan Rite Aid locations set to close are in Allen Park, Bay City, Flint, Grosse Pointe Farms, Livonia, Marlette, Milford and Wyandotte. Two locations in Burton are closing.
The company currently has more than 180 locations in the state, according to its website, including three in Grand Rapids.
Rite Aid filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in mid-October. It has posted losses several years in a row, faced with challenges like opioid lawsuits, WOOD TV8 sister publication The Hill reports.
