RICHLAND, Wash.-The community is invited to the opening of the outdoor fitness court at Howard Amon Park on Thursday, June 6 at 11 a.m.
The new fitness court is an outdoor gym created for users ages 14 and older with seven stations that allow people to leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout, according to the City of Richland.
“Howard Amon Park is the perfect setting to encourage users to get outside and focus on their health and wellness,” said John Amundson, Richland City Manager. “I’m confident this will be an asset to this park and our community.”
A digital coaching app for iOS and Android is also available for users of the Fitness Court.
Richland’s Fitness Court was a featured part of the 2024 initiative from the National Fitness Campaign, a wellness firm that partners with cities and schools to plan, fund and build healthy communities, according to a Richland press release on the opening.
