Reed & Mackay acquires Italian events and travel specialist
Travel management company Reed & Mackay is expanding into Italy with the acquisition of Rome-based corporate travel and events business, Regent International S.R.L.
The move follows a period of “strong organic growth” in Germany and France for London-based Reed & Mackay, which was acquired by Navan in May 2021 (then known as TripActions).
Following brand expansion in Spain and Sweden, the TMC said its presence in Europe has grown 28 per cent in the last 12 months and that its latest acquisition signals a “reinforcement of our strategy” to provide both business travel and meetings and events services as a joint offering to clients.
Reed & Mackay global CEO Fred Stratford, said: “Italy is an important market for Reed & Mackay’s clients. Not only does Regent International bring deep-rooted knowledge of the Italian corporate travel and events market, its values also closely align with Reed & Mackay’s uncompromising focus on high-touch service.”
Founded in 1974 as a family business, Regent International specialises in corporate travel and meetings and events management, including conferences and incentive travel. The company, which has offices in Rome and Milan, has more than 200 clients across sectors including professional services, healthcare, technology and media, according to Reed & Mackay.
The TMC said currently there are no plans to rebrand Regent under the Reed & Mackay name and that all current employees will be retained, including founder and managing director, Giovanni Tiradritto, who will continue to lead the Italian business while working closely with Stratford and the wider Reed & Mackay executive team.
“I am incredibly proud of Regent’s reputation as a service leader in Italy, and we look forward to delivering this tailored service to Reed & Mackay’s international clients with travel and event needs in the Italian market,” Tiradritto said.
“This is an exciting next chapter for Regent International with expanded buying power, international coverage and enhanced technology set to bring enhanced benefit to our clients here in Italy,” he added.
This marks Navan Group’s sixth acquisition in three years. The group, incorporating Reed & Mackay, was last year ranked as the fourth largest TMC in Europe in the list of the continent’s leading TMCs.
