Raiders schedule 2024: Ranking the road trips

One of the best parts of knowing the NFL schedule for fans is to be able to start planning to attend games during the year.

We know the Raider Nation travels well and we also know it may be easier to see the Las Vegas Raiders on the road than at Allegiant Stadium these days.

So, here is my ranking of the top road trips for the Raiders in 2024. The formula is based on the city, stadium, weather, logistics and overall fan experience.

Dec. 29 at New Orleans Saints, 10 a.m., FOX

This top ranking is based much more on the overall experience than who the Saints’ quarterback is. The Crescent City is a true bucket-list city. If you haven’t been, go. This is a perfect time to check if off your list, right before the New Year’s Eve craziness and the Jan. 1 Sugar Bowl, which will be a college football playoff game. The city will be rocking. Oh, and the Derek Carr attraction is pretty good, too.

Sept. 8 at Los Angeles Chargers, 1:05 p.m., CBS/Oct. 20 at Los Angeles Rams, 1:05 p.m., CBS

You can’t go wrong with a trip to Southern California and the weather should be awesome for both of these dates. LA belongs to the Raiders. you might as well join the party.

Sept. 15 at Baltimore Ravens, 10 a.m., CBS

Baltimore is a pretty cool place, especially this time of year. Downtown has plenty to do and eat and the stadium is easy to walk to (which is key in my book). The trip would be ranked higher if the Orioles were in town. Camden Yards is way cool.

Nov. 17 at Miami Dolphins, 10 a.m., CBS

You can’t go wrong with a South Beach trip. It’s a bonus that the humid season should be over. This is a nice excuse to get some pre-winter sun.

Dec. 8 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 10 a.m., CBS

If you can’t make Miami, Tampa is a good alternative. The town is easy to get around and the weather should be nice. Plus, the stadium is pretty comfortable.

Oct. 6 at Denver Broncos, 1:05 p.m., FOX

A solid choice. Denver is easy to navigate and the stadium is fine. Early October in the Rocky Mountains can be pretty perfect or … pretty snowy.

Nov. 29 at Kansas City Chiefs, Noon, Amazon Prime

The low ranking is based on the date. Thanksgiving weekend is no fun to travel during and the weather could be dicey. Otherwise, Arrowhead is a great experience.

Nov. 3 at Cincinnati Bengals, 10 a.m., FOX

This is no knock on the Queen City, (yes, Charlotte calls itself that, too) but my experience there has been just OK. It’s fine, yet nothing is too memorable. There are more exciting opportunities on this list. And, no, I’ve never had Skyline Chili and don’t ever see it happening.

Enjoy the season wherever it may take you.
