Promote Online Gambling Sites, 5 Celebgrams Arrested By Banten Police

The police arrested five celebgrams with the initials PW, TO, BR, EA and ZC who were suspected of promoting online gambling via Instagram. They were arrested after the Banten Police cyber team found accounts identified as promotions for online gambling sites.

The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Didik Hariyanto, said that the 5 perpetrators promoted online gambling sites through Instagram account posts by including links.

“(They) promote online gambling sites by making posts on their Instagram accounts by listing links or online gambling sites and including links or online gambling sites on their Bio Instagram,” Didik told reporters, Monday, June 24.

Didik also conveyed that the 5 actors whose categories have Instagram followers reached tens to hundreds of thousands. Thanks to this promotion, the celebgram made tens of millions of rupiah in profits.

The following is the income from the 5 celebgrams:

1. PW as the owner of the Instagram Account by promoting 2 online gambling sites and earning a profit of Rp. 6,050,000.

2. TO as the owner of the Instagram account by promoting 4 online gambling sites and earning a profit of IDR 20,700,000.

3. BR as the owner of the Instagram account by promoting 14 online gambling sites and earning a profit of IDR 41,000,000.

4. EA as the owner of the Instagram account by promoting 6 online gambling sites and earning a profit of IDR 17,600,000.

5. ZC owner of Instagram account by promoting 2 online gambling sites with and earning a profit of IDR 5,450,000.

The Banten Police Cyber Team, who was aware of the existence of these accounts, immediately conducted an investigation until the 5 perpetrators were finally identified.

Furthermore, his party arrested the 5 celebgrams. Then they were taken to the Banten Police for examination.

Currently, the 5 celebgrams have been named as suspects. They were charged with Article 45 Paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 27 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 11 Year 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions as amended by Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 Year 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions.
