Popular comedian dead at 54 after freak accident

Popular British comedian Tony Knight was killed recently in a freak accident.

The 54-year-old was attending the Rock & Cars Festival in France on June 7 when two tree branches fell, striking Knight and killing him, according to Entertainment Weekly. The site said that four others were injured in the accident, but they all survived.

“He was only 54 and having the time of his life,” a GoFundMe for his family said. “He was fit, healthy, happy and had everything going for him.”

People Magazine reported that the incident occurred “amid fair weather conditions, and there were no signs of wind or a storm.”

The site said that along with his reputation as a comedian, Knight was known for his ability as a dog trainer.

The GoFundMe said that Knight was preparing to do a slate of shows throughout the United Kingdom.

“We are beyond devastated that his life was taken by a freak accident,” the post said. “An accident we are still trying to comprehend.”

It closed with, “Tony… we will love and miss you forever. Life will not be the same but we will wrap our arms around your beloved Hayley.”
