Police Reports: Arrest in 2021 Northfield robbery, two burglaries at LA Fitness – The Record

These reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

June 25

• A cash register that contained $5 reportedly was stolen from a business in the 1100 block of Green Bay Road.

WINNETKA

June 27

• More than $1,000 cash reportedly was taken from a purse between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the 1300 block of Scott Avenue.

• An unlocked bicycle reportedly was stolen from a bike rack at McDonald’s, 858 Green Bay Road, and later recovered at 754 Elm St.

June 25

• An unlocked car reportedly was stolen between 6-6:03 a.m. from a driveway in the 100 block of Church Road.

• A wallet with credit cards and cash reportedly was stolen overnight from a car parked in the 1100 block of Cherry Street.

• A purse containing credit cards, a passport, cash and more reportedly was stolen from the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

GLENCOE

June 20

• Four Chicago residents were arrested in connection with a residential burglary in the 800 block of Oak Drive in April.

• At least two bike seats reportedly were stolen off bikes racked at the Glencoe Metra station, 724 Old Green Bay Road.

HIGHLAND PARK

June 30

• Cash reportedly was stolen from a locker after a lock reportedly was cut and removed at LA Fitness, 115 Skokie Valley Road.

June 26

• A pro-Israel display reportedly was vandalized at 1810 St. John’s Ave. The report says a flag pole was broken, photo torn and permit removed.

• Seven bottles of liquor reportedly were stolen from Jewel, 1600 Deerfield Road.

June 24

• Nearly $900 worth of allergy medication reportedly was stolen from Walgreens, 632 Roger Williams Ave.

• Apple AirPods reportedly were stolen from LA Fitness, 115 Skokie Valley Road.

NORTHFIELD

June 28

• A Texas resident was arrested in connection with a 2021 robbery outside of Northfield Restaurant, 391 Central Ave. Authorities located the man in Wisconsin on June 28 and reportedly obtained a confession in Northfield. The man was charged with theft. Another alleged offender, a Texas woman, was arrested in 2022 for her involvement in the crime.

KENILWORTH

June 25

• An unlocked car with the keys inside reportedly was stolen between 6-6:45 a.m. from the 600 block of Melrose Avenue. The car reportedly was located undamaged at 2:30 p.m. in Chicago and returned to the rental company, which reportedly did not want to pursue a criminal investigation.

• A car reportedly stolen out of Chicago was located in the 700 block of Maclean Avenue around the same time time as the rental-car theft.
