Planet Fitness Gals Say Fitness ‘Is Mental’

WHEELING – Fitness is as much mental as it is physical, according to three female employees at Planet Fitness.

Nicole Wilson, 20, of Wheeling; Jordan Feeley, 30, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; and Morgan Moore, 22, of New Martinsville gathered with others near the starting line to participate in the Tough As Nails Urban Challenge on Sunday in Wheeling.

They were looking forward to what lay ahead.

“It’s a mental game. You have to mentally prepare yourself for it,” Feeley said.

She explained she has participated in fitness since she was a youth and was involved with sports in high school and middle school.

Wilson noted she got ready for “Tough As Nails” by doing lifting and cardio workouts, followed by a “five-day sprint” that involved working all muscle groups.

She also played sports while in high school, as did Moore.

“I started playing sports when I was about 8 or 9,” Moore said. “I played basketball and Tee-ball.”

All noted their feelings before the start of the urban challenge event.

“I feel mentally better, but I could be physically better,” Moore said.

Feeley indicated she didn’t know what to expect, “but we’ll see when it comes to the end.”

Morgan, though, said she felt confident about the challenge.

“It tests your limits, and it definitely will be testing mine,” she said. “I will just try to do better.”
