Perez retains NXT women’s title against TNA Knockout’s Champion at Battleground

On a history making night for the women of NXT, starting with the crowning of a new women’s North American champion, the Knockout’s Champion in TNA made her way to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, to challenge for the NXT women’s championship at Battleground.

Indeed, Roxanne Perez was waiting for an opponent and none other than Jordynne Grace walked through the curtain to greet her.

What was equally shocking were reports that WWE would continue working with TNA, to the degree that it had become a real possibility that Grace could win the title and take it with her back to her home promotion. It created a great deal of intrigue going into this match.

The match itself was fine for what it was but any talk of a crossover extending to a TNA star holding a WWE title will remain on hold, as Perez used the Pop Rox to scoe the pinfall to retain her championship.
