Oklahoma got its bats going early in Game 1 against Texas with three homers in the first three innings and a 5-1 lead that was plenty for standout pitcher Kelly Maxwell in an 8-3 Sooners victory. Maxwell allowed just a solo home run in the first inning before settling in to finish off a complete game with four hits, four walks and eight strikeouts over seven strong innings. Her effort backed up early fireworks from Tiarre Jennings and Kinzie Hansen, who hit two-run homers in the first and third innings, respectively.
