NT Strengthens Telecom Infrastructure at China-ASEAN Forum

National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) reinforced Thailand’s telecommunications infrastructure leadership at the China-ASEAN Submarine Cable Cooperation Forum in Beijing.


National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) attended the China-ASEAN Submarine Cable Cooperation Forum to exchange experiences in the development of submarine cables among representatives of ASEAN countries, share information on the international submarine cable industry, and expand international cooperation in submarine cables and digital infrastructure development in ASEAN. The forum was held in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, on 4 July 2024. 

Representatives from NT, led by Ms. Wannapha Srisangangamkul, Assistant Vice President of Data Communication Marketing and Product Development; Mr. Arunsak Nitin, Manager of Transmission Network Engineering Sector; Dr. Natthaphong Liamcharoen, Manager of International Network Sector; and Mr. Phithak Thiangphuk, Manager of International Data Communication Sector, shared knowledge and guidelines for developing international submarine cable technology with representatives of ASEAN countries.  

Ms. Wannapha Srisangangamkul, Assistant Vice President of International Product Development, gave a talk on the topic of “The Growth Engine and Digital Infrastructure Opportunities in Thailand,” discussing opportunities and growth of the creative economy and digital infrastructure in Thailand. As one of the main submarine cable providers in ASEAN, NT showcased its diverse and stable infrastructure and international interconnections with a network that can connect to countries around the world through a maximum of eight submarine cable systems. The Thailand Crossing infrastructure can fully connect the submarine cable system between the Eastern and Western sides of Asia. The company is ready to support international data communication for businesses worldwide, the increasing trend of various telecommunications, and the growth of Cloud Providers, Content Providers, and OTTs, as well as government policies using digital technology to drive the economy, develop society, and create a more stable economic foundation for the country.  

The China-ASEAN Submarine Cable Cooperation Forum saw participation from more than 170 attendees, including government representatives and telecommunications service providers from 10 ASEAN countries, who came to share best practices, exchange experiences in the development of international submarine cables, and expand cooperation in submarine cables and regional digital infrastructure development.
