North Carolina Spot Among The ‘Most Underrated Summer Travel Destinations’ | iHeartRadio

Summer is officially here, and many around the country are already planning how they want to enjoy the warm weather, from long days spent soaking up the sun to cozy nights listening to crickets chirp and cicadas sing while surrounded by family and friends.

Cosmopolitan knows just how much people enjoy traveling in the summer months and seeing more of the beauty that America has to offer so it compiled a list of the 15 “most underrated summer travel destinations” around the country, “inexpensive spots with fascinating backstories and vibey hangouts just waiting to be discovered.”

Among the list of gorgeous state parks in the Northeast to winding highways along the West Coast is one spot in North Carolina: Asheville. Here’s what the site had to say:

“I can relation to Asheville. She’s a city that refuses to be defined. She can be outdoorsy if needed, but she prefers sharing fries at a rooftop bar, where her ‘southern’ will start showing after a few drinks. Long story short, Asheville can hang. The shoppable streets (check out Minx boutique on Lexington Avenue), craveable restaurants (make a reservation early for Cúrate), historic museums (the Biltmore is a must, obv), and crazy cool art scene (anywhere in the River Arts District!) put this place high on my list of summer destination.”
