Nintendo Switch users surprised with 3 free games to download and enjoy

An icon is returning to the Nintendo Switch, praise be!

Nintendo has been busy with the classics of late; after waiting for far too long, more hidden gems of the past are becoming accessible on the ageing handheld console.

If you want a more modern game to play on your Nintendo, Little Kitty, Big City is a fantastic choice!

We’ve witnessed games from the Game Boy Advance return to us 20 years later, and now, we see the return of Starfy!

If you don’t know who or what this little golden star is, you need to educate yourselves quick-smart. Fortunately, the surprise drop of three free games is the ideal starting point.

The Pufftop prince has three games now available on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion.

This is the first time these games have been made available internationally; they were previously Japan exclusives.

Consequently, you’re going to see a lot of Japanese text in-game, as highlighted by the trailer announcing the arrival of Starfy for Switch users.

“I love how the trailer for Starfy 2 shows a huge wall of Japanese text/menus for the Western audience to figure out,” quipped RGT 85 on Twitter.

While it’s going to be a leap of faith for some as they try to make sense of what’s being said, it seems a small price to pay for Starfy to be back on our consoles.

The little guy has been gone so long people feared Nintendo had forgotten the character.

User Aero said, “WHATTTTTT?????? ARE YOU SERIOUS? I THOUGHT YOU FORGOT ABOUT STARFY.”

This is such a “win” for gamers, with many simply overjoyed that Starfy has “made it out of Japan” for the first time, at least officially, that is.

As mentioned earlier, Starfy 1, 2, and 3 are available now, provided you pay that little bit extra to access Nintendo’s growing collection of retro titles.

Even if we didn’t usually pay, we would for Starfy. Anything for Starfy.
