Nintendo Switch And Retro Console Graphics Upscaler Gets Rare Discount For Prime Day

You’ve got some old consoles and you’d like them to not look terrible on your modern TV, and that’s where this handy mClassic Graphics Upscaler arrives to save the day. There’s a Prime Day special available for this plug-and-play device, but the catch here is that it’ll only be on sale for 12 hours on July 16 and ends at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. Usually $100, this deal bring the mClassic down to $80, a rare discount for this useful piece of tech. It’s a great deal if you can grab it.

mClassic Graphics Upscaler

This is a plug-and-play dongle that uses anti-aliasing to smooth jagged edges in games, sharpening and adjusting images to make them look better on your TV. This is particularly great for Nintendo Switch games, and to get the visual benefits, all you have to do is plug it into your console, plug in the supplied power cable, and then reconnect your HDMI cable from your TV into the mClassic dongle.

As mentioned above, it’s great for Switch owners, but it also works just as well with even older consoles that have an HDMI port. Retro consoles that don’t have that port–like the GameCube, N64, and Super Nintendo–can still make use of the mClassic Upscaler through an HDMI adapter. This is especially useful when you don’t have a traditional CRT TV–or it has finally gone on to TV heaven. Of course, this isn’t a foolproof solution, and results may vary depending on your TV or console.

While this mClassic deal is only around until 2 PM PT, it’s also just one of the many deals happening today and tomorrow during Prime Day. Be sure to check GameSpot’s Prime Day hub for the latest discounts.
