Nikki Glaser’s parents apologize for calling Julia Roberts ‘gross’ after viral Travis Kelce video
Nikki Glaser’s parents issued an apology after calling Julia Roberts “gross” for “rubbing on” Travis Kelce at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in Ireland over the weekend.
“[I] probably should’ve said something different than the word ‘gross,’” the comedian’s mother, Julie Glaser, said in an Instagram video Tuesday. “I don’t know, it’s a weird word.”
Nikki chimed in the background saying, “That maybe wasn’t so nice.”
“It’s not a nice word, I didn’t realize,” Julie continued.
“I’m issuing an apology right now for using the word ‘gross,’ but I think it was really weird,” the matriarch added, referring to the “Pretty Woman” star’s touchy behavior with the NFL hunk.
“I meant to say weird, not gross … I’m retracting that.”
Meanwhile, Edward Glaser joked it was “too late” to apologize since their controversial reaction had already made headlines.
On Monday, Edward and Julie hilariously reacted to a video of the interaction which showed Roberts, 56, seemingly tickling the tight end’s chest.
“She’s so gross,” Julie said.
“Isn’t that a little much? … She just wants to get in there,” Nikki, 40, agreed.
Edward later chimed in, alleging Kelce, 34, was “trying to get away” from the “Notting Hill” star.
“She’s trying to French kiss him right now! Just kidding,” Julie quipped.
On Sunday, Roberts attended the “Cruel Summer” singer’s tour stop in Dublin alongside Stevie Nicks and other celebs.
The NFL star rushed to Ireland from his teammate Clyde Edwards-Hilaire’s wedding in California and appeared to have surprised Swift with his attendance.
While Roberts was likely gushing over Kelce and his relationship with the pop star, several Swifties slammed the “uncomfortable” encounter.
“The chest scratch is an odd choice,” one person wrote on X.
However, another came to the actress’ defense, saying, “Why are people being weird about this? Some people are just touchy like that, she’s also old enough to be his mom.”
