New Ulta Beauty shop debuts in Fort Worth during best sale of the year

This early summer edition of Where to Shop has a little bit of everything, everywhere: A new soap shop in far north Fort Worth, a popular Near Southside boutique putting down stakes in Aledo, a fast-growing Japanese gift shop debuting in west Fort Worth, and so much more. Here’s what’s happening in the local shopping scene this month.

Magnolia Soap & Bath Co
A company selling “cleaner” soaps, detergents, and more makes its Tarrant County debut in Fort Worth’s Alliance area. Founded in 2016 by a mom who sought safer soaps for her daughter’s sensitive skin, Magnolia crafts products using domestically sourced, plant-based, phthalate-free ingredients. Find bar soaps, skincare regimens, laundry washes, even products for pets. During Grand Opening weekend June 14-15, the first 50 customers each day to spend $50 will receive free soap for a year. Also, those who spend $75 will get 20 percent off their next purchase – plus more deals and giveaways. Find it at 3201 Tracewood Way, Ste. 111 (in the same shopping center as H-E-B).

Daiso
The newest location of the global chain that sells fun and affordable stuff opened June 1 at 3501 Bernie Anderson Ave., off Camp Bowie Boulevard, in west Fort Worth. Daiso is known for its array of items both useful and fun, from household goods to stationery to beauty, and more. The company was founded in Japan in 2005, made its DFW debut in 2015, and has since opened locations in Euless, Grapevine, Fort Worth, Watauga, and Arlington. Daiso carries thousands of products: kitchenware, beauty supplies, stationery, wrapping paper, electronic accessories, greeting cards, party favors, and plushie toys, exotic-ish snacks, and more.

So many things to buy at Daiso.

Winton and Waits
The Near Southside female-owned boutique that supports women makers around the world debuted its second location, in Aledo, on June 1. Located in a cute little rock house at 208 FM-1187 S., the new shop features the high-quality apparel and accessories Fort Worth fans have loved for years – plus an all-new Wardrobe Collection. The Aledo store will host a second grand opening event in the way of “Party in the Park” in its backyard area on June 29. The event will include cocktails, live music, food trucks, market vendors, and more, from 12-8 pm. (By the way, the Fort Worth shop also has a new address: 115 E. Daggett Ave.)

Dickies x Green Day
The Fort Worth-based brand known for functional workwear has teamed up with rock band Green Day to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its groundbreaking album Dookie. The Green Day x Dickies capsule collection includes a jacket, hoodie, coveralls, and tee ($40-$130) featuring designs inspired by the album imagery. Items are now available on Green Day’s website and will be sold at select Urban Outfitters on June 14 and as exclusive tour merch beginning July 29. Green Day’s newest tour comes to Globe Life Field on September 11.

Fount
Recently opened at Southlake Town Square, Fount crafts beautiful accessories from full-grain Italian leather sourced from British hides that are a byproduct of the food industry. Think: pet collars, wallets, belts, and handbags that range from about $50 to $800. The brand was founded in 2014 and now has four U.S. locations; Southlake represents its Texas debut. Now open daily at 416 Grand Ave W., Southlake. (Also coming soon to Southlake Town Square: Splendid, a beachy athleisure-wear retailer.)

Tanger Outlets Fort Worth
There’s been a flurry of openings at the far north Fort Worth outlet center, with more on the way: Specialty sports store Rally House recently opened next door to Under Armour; and Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop made its sweet debut near Skechers. LOFT is now open in a newly renovated space next to Francesca’s. Ulta Beauty will open an 11,000-square-foot store this summer near Guess at the Main Entry. Coach will reopen this summer in a new and freshly renovated space near Bath & Body Works. Watch the website and social media pages to keep up.
