An ultra-exclusive new gym and lifestyle club has opened in New York.
At $10,000 a month, Continuum is in the running to be the most expensive gym in the city.
And with a hard-cap on membership – just 250 people are allowed to join – it’s also one of the most exclusive.
CEO Jeff Halvey told The New York Post: ‘It’s very different from anything that exists.’
Located at 676 Greenwich St, Continuum combines a luxury lounge with a top-of-the-line gym with resident health and nutrition experts.
Halevy said: ‘Our unique value proposition to remember is the integration of all these modalities at a very high level.
‘We’re doing the homework for everybody, not just in developing the programming but in curating the actual experts that are going to work with them.’
Continuum says they are only allowing a maximum of 250 VIP members.
After joining, members undergo an ‘onboarding assessment’ to test their VO2 max, body composition, blood panels and sleep quality.
The ‘knowledge set’ is then entered into an artificial intelligence system which a specialist uses to develop a personalized wellness plan.
They are then given wearable devices which track progress and the app updates recommendations in real-time.
Halevy told The Post: ‘Exercise is just one lever in this preventive health and wellness sphere.’
‘All of our [trainers and physical therapists] have masters or doctorates in their respective fields and at least five years of relevant experience as well.’
After a workout, members can relax with physical therapy and massage, as well as medi-spa treatments including using hyperbaric chambers, cold plunges, floats, and red-light therapies.
Continuum is part of a growing trend for high-end full-service health gyms.
Last month, Equinox launched a $40,000 annual membership designed to extend your lifespan through personal training, nutrition plans, massage therapy and even sleep coaching.
Equinox is partnering with lab-test startup Function Health to bring ‘Optimize by Equinox’ to market, making it one of the most expensive gym memberships in the world.
‘It’s really a paradigm shift in how we’re able to live with vitality and avoid suffering,’ said Jonathan Swerdlin, cofounder of Function Health.
‘It deals with what’s above the surface, your abs and glutes, which you can see in the mirror that are great. But it also deals with what’s below the surface and what you can’t see in the mirror. And that’s revolutionary,’ Swerdlin added.
‘Optimize by Equinox’ costs $3,000 a month for a minimum of six months, and when combined with the standard gym membership fee, it brings the total to $40,000 or more.
Regular-old Equinox memberships are already quite pricey. If you want access to all 107 Equinox clubs worldwide, it’ll set you back $405 a month, or just under $5,000 a year.
The Optimize program begins with Function Health testing new members for 100 biomarkers – biological traits that indicate possible risk for a disease.
The tests will measure members’ healthiness level in their heart, liver, kidneys and will even try to detect cancer markers.
