Missing mom, 2 daughters may have been ‘coerced to travel to Mexico’: Kansas authorities

HASKELL COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — A Kansas mother and her two young daughters, missing since Friday, may have been coerced into traveling to “a religious rehabilitation facility” in Mexico, investigators say.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigations has issued an endangered persons advisory for Martha Unger, 23, and her two daughters, Madilynn Grace Unger, 2, and Haylie Faith Unger, 1.

All three were reported missing from their Haskell County home shortly before 7 p.m. CDT on Friday.

Authorities shared the below photos of Martha, Madilynn, and Haylie.

Martha is a white female who stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes, while both of her daughters have blond hair and blue eyes.

Law enforcement believes that Martha drives a 2015 white Ford Explorer bearing Kansas tag 301RJY.

“Investigators believe they may have been coerced to travel to Mexico to a religious rehabilitation facility with Corney and Elizabeth Klaasen,” the KBI said.

Corney and Elizabeth Klaasen, seen below, are in their 50s. Corney is a clean-shaven man standing approximately 6 foot 2 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds. He was last known to be wearing jeans and a button-up shirt.

They may be driving a white and black Chevy Blazer, seen below, bearing a Mexico tag.
