Miami-Dade police confirm 3 dead after incident at shopping plaza

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police confirmed Friday morning that three people are dead, including a child, after an incident at a shopping plaza.

Local 10 News received reports that there was a shooting at the Chase Bank, located off Bird Road and Southwest 152nd Avenue, but police initially only confirmed that they were investigating three deaths.

One Local 10 viewer told Local 10 in an email that she was attending a Pilates class at the Kendall West shopping plaza at 7:30 a.m. when the instructor announced that he heard about 15 shots.

She said he then locked the door and moved everyone to the back of the studio.

A Local 10 News crew is headed to the scene to gather more details.
