Maren Morris comes out as bisexual in new post celebrating Pride Month
This Pride Month is shaping up to be an unforgettable one!
On Sunday, June 9, singer-songwriter Maren Morris came out as bisexual in a new post shared on social media.
Morris shared an Instagram carousel of pictures from a concert in Phoenix, Arizona. She wrote in the caption:
“Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+. Happy pride [rainbow emoji].”
Celebrities are reacting with lovely comments under Morris’ coming-out post.
Allison Ponthier commented, “HAPPY PRIDE!!!!! Thanks for being an inspiration and what a special pride this one is.” Lindsay Ell added rainbow and heart emojis to the comments section. Kate Yeager wrote, “WE [LOVE] MAREN! Proud of you!! Happy pride girlie [heart emoji].”
Morris subsequently shared a few Instagram stories of herself holding up an LGBTQ+ Pride flag while performing at the same Phoenix concert. The singer also re-posted posts from other celebrities congratulating her on coming out and living as her most authentic self.

Between 2022 and 2023, Morris announced that she’d be stepping away from country music due to disagreeing with certain stances within the industry, including anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric pushed by conservatives and coopted by many country artists.
Between calling out Brittany Kerr Aldean, Jason Aldean’s wife, for sharing a transphobic post on social media, feuding with Fox News and donating $100,000 to organizations that advocate for trans causes, speaking out against the anti-drag laws in Tennessee and telling local authorities to “arrest [her]” if they wanted to, putting together a benefit concert to raise money for the fight against drag bans, and offering support to out, gay, country singer Adam Mac after he had to back out of a music festival due to experiencing homophobia, Morris was already widely recognized as a strong and vocal ally to the LGBTQ+ community.
Following this coming-out announcement, we can now welcome Morris to the family not only as a great ally, but also as literally one of us. We couldn’t be happier about it!
Thank you, Maren Morris, for all you’ve done for the LGBTQ+ community over the years. Furthermore, we’re thrilled that you’ve taken this step further to live as your most authentic self — there’s no better feeling. Happy Pride!
