Man shot, killed outside Mobile shopping center on Fourth of July |…

The Mobile Police Department’s homicide detectives did not get to take off the Fourth of July because they had to respond to a busy shopping center off Airport Boulevard.

Around 4:54 p.m., police were dispatched to the Festival Centre shopping center, where they found a man shot in the parking lot of Academy Sports + Outdoors.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died from a gunshot wound.

DeShaun Bonner, 22, was identified as the victim.

Police have not announced if any arrests have been made or if the incident was isolated.
