Magliano SS25 Is the Epitome of Functional Grunge

LVMH Prize-winning designer and previous Pitti Uomo resident Luca Magliano is a force to be reckoned with. The Italian talent continues growing stronger season after season, and Spring/Summer 2025 is no different. Milan Fashion Week has been an emotional rollercoaster, with designers tapping into our subconscious while embracing the present moment. Magliano takes a similar approach for SS25, debuting a grunge-fused collection that reimagines essential menswear staples packed with surprises.

Magliano expressed its desires inside a vacant lot covered in graffiti, seeing models emerge from uncovered doorways likely occupied by car owners prior. Shirts arrived with asymmetrical closures for an abstract look, matched with folded trousers revealing waistline measurements. Collarless bomber jackets and belted sweatpants were previewed through an upgraded lens, while casual tank tops integrated fold-over hemlines for increased functionality with open-air pockets.

Magliano’s collection is a masterclass in challenging reality. Printed denim and faux fading, along with affluent peacoats in towel-like fabrics, add a touch of surrealism that begs to be explored. Magliano SS25 is a journey into alternative realities guided by its tripping ethos. Psychedelic prints emerge featuring digitalized flowers, smoking snakes, and mind-bending rats dripping in tinted acid, creating a haunting aura. The collection’s simplicity is equally striking, driving expertise through unexpected materials and retro silhouettes pulled into the present with precision.
