MA Teens Get Free Planet Fitness Memberships This Summer
WESTBOROUGH, MA — Planet Fitness gyms across Massachusetts will allow teens to exercise for free this summer as part of the chain’s annual “High School Summer Pass” program.
The free summer memberships for teens age 14 to 18 are valid June 1 to Aug. 31, but eligible teens can register for memberships now. The early enrollment period is meant to coincide with May as Mental Health Awareness Month.
“Research also shows that nine out of 10 teens agree physical activity improves their overall mental health, and a recent Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Pediatrics study determined physical fitness among children and adolescents may protect against developing depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; afflictions that have direct correlations to the impacts of the COVID pandemic,” the New Hampshire-based chain said in a news release.
