Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store coming to Belmont County

BELMONT COUNTY, OHIO (WTRF) – A new state-of-the-art truck stop is about to be built at the Belmont Morristown exit of I-70, on Route 149.

The Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store will have two eateries–Godfather’s Pizza and Hardee’s.
It will have a complete tire store as well as gas and diesel fuel.

The building will be 17,000 square feet and the entire facility will cover dozens of acres on a site that was formerly a golf course, across from the Pilot Plaza.

“Amenities are planned like a dog park, they’re gonna have camping spots for travelers that are traveling with campers. And so it’s gonna be quite a facility. A little bit of a unique facility when you think about truck stops. It’s not just gonna be for semis but just a great addition and a great investment in Belmont County.”

Larry Merry – Executive Director, Belmont County Port Authority

“So this new truck stop gives tourists an opportunity to get off of Interstate, come get gas and maybe they’ll check out other things we have in the area like Barkcamp State Camp right down the road or the Underground Railroad Museum the opposite direction.”

Jackee Pugh – Executive Director, Belmont County Tourism Council

Port Authority Director Larry Merry says he has been told the project is on the fast track and could be up and running by the first of the year.

He says Love’s is a family-owned company based in Oklahoma with more than 630 locations across 42 states.
