Lovable Michigan Travel Deals: Mackinac’s new resort, Short’s Fest, Father’s Day golf

Welcome to summer deal season. It used to be that shoulder seasons – early spring and late fall in Michigan – were the only times you could score great travel deals. But right now, we’re seeing some pretty good package deals out there, and at the beginning of prime summer travel weeks, too.

This week, we were treated to a sneak peek of Mackinac Island’s newly renovated and expanded Inn at Stonecliffe, a stellar resort property that just finished $40 million in upgrades. It opens this month with a sweet deal for summer stays. And if you’ve got a Father’s Day trip in mind, Treetops has a dad-themed deal for midweek stays and golf the whole month of June. But this week’s cherry on top is Short’s Fest: a free celebration hosted by one of our favorite Up North craft breweries.

Happy traveling, friends. Here are the details:

A new family-friendly pool and an adults-only pool area have been added at The Inn at Stonecliffe.

#1 The Inn at Stonecliffe on Mackinac Island: Stonecliffe is offering a Grand Opening Package that includes 20% off overnight stays, bundled with a $100 resort credit. Use the promo code CELEBRATE for booking. To find out more details or make a reservation, go to the inn’s website here.

The Inn at Stonecliffe offers lodging in its newly-redone mansion rooms, the next-door suites with kitchenettes, and the new summer cottages facing the Straits of Mackinac. Pools, a fitness center and on-site restaurants are just a few of the new amenities.

#2 Treetops Resort near Gaylord has an Every Day is Father’s Day golf deal during the month of June. “Celebrate the father in your life all June long with our Every Day is Father’s Day golf deal at Treetops. Enjoy 30% off June midweek stay and plays (Sunday to Thursday), that includes one or more overnights in any accommodation and one round on any course with a cart,” resort staff said. Find more details and reservation information on the Treetops website here or call (844) 393-1971.

#3 Short’s Fest in Elk Rapids: We love a good weekend party. And this one not only has free admission, but it’s designed with a little something for all ages to enjoy. It runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at the Short’s Pull Barn facility in Elk Rapids, 211 Industrial Park Drive.

“Summer doesn’t start until we say so – throw on your summer shorts, grab your camp chair, and join us for the perfect summer day (rain or shine!) on the lawn by Grand Traverse East Bay,” brewery staff said.

What’s on tap? A buffet of Short’s brews, Starcut Ciders and lots of non-alcoholic beverages, too. Ditto for the food and the music. “You can stuff your face with tacos, BBQ, coney dogs (and more) on site if you need something to satiate (other than our luxurious liquids). Live music starts at 5:30, release your wiggles with live music from Kanin Wren’s “Taylor Swift Experience” and Elizabeth Reed will rock our earballs til the sun goes down.”

For more information, check the Short’s website here.
