Nashville-based clothing company Able has named Misti Blasko to the role of CEO.
She is the first female CEO for the company, which is 98 percent women-led, according to a press release. Blasko replaces founder Barrett Ward, who led since the company’s inception.
“I’m beyond grateful to have Misti taking the helm at Able,” said Ward. “We’ve been looking for the right leader to take us to the next level, and Misti exceeds our expectations. Between her extensive experience in leadership and her passion for uplifting women, we are confident that Able’s mission remains intact.”
With 25 years in the fashion industry, Blasko most recently served as North American president for AllSaints and also previously held roles at True Religion, John Varvatos and BCBG. She will be relocating from Los Angeles to Nashville for the role.
Now a $15 million brand, Able (stylized as “ABLE”) was founded in 2010 and offers apparel, leather goods and handmade jewelry. With its fulfillment offices in West Nashville’s The Nations, the company bills itself as an ethical brand that offers employment opportunities for women to make the jewelry in a local studio, according to the release. The company and its founder have been featured in the press over the years, with Ward having previously won a GQ award.
