Live updates: Oregon State baseball vs. Kentucky in Game 2 of Lexington Super Regional

The Oregon State Beavers will be fighting for their postseason lives in Lexington this evening.

No. 15 OSU (45-15, 19-10 Pac-12) is looking to bounce back quickly against No. 2 Kentucky (41-14, 22-8 SEC) after suffering a blowout loss to the Wildcats in Saturday’s super regional opener. With a win, the Beavers will force a decisive third game on Monday.

With a loss, Oregon State’s season will be over.

“Until it was a 10-0 ballgame I thought we were still in it,” Oregon State coach Mitch Canham said. “We always feel that way. It’s a habit. You look at the lineup, the lineup card posted in the dugout, and you just visualize success from each of those guys and how they’re going to get on and do it. It makes it easy. When you see their name and you know how hard these kids work, when you look at that lineup, you’re like, ‘Man, we got this.’ You look at the guys down the bullpen, you’re always filled with confidence.

“That’s just a choice that I personally make, to see the best in those guys, because they work their butts off.”

Oregon State is 6-3 in elimination games under Canham during his five seasons leading the program.

Jacob Kmatz (7-2, 3.29 ERA) is slated to get the starting nod for Oregon State. Follow along for live updates throughout the evening.
